Poet in New York is comprised by six videos of approximately 2 minutes each, where music and spoken poetry play along with different scenarios of New York. The group videos, filmed during different seasons of the year, depict the movement of the city and the people who represent New York City. Poet in New York relates the life and struggles of a young poet moving along these characters in the streets of the Village (Washington Square Park), the subway (West 4), etc. The last video is a collaboration between Merhi, Bill Viola and Nam June Paik. It presents Nam June Paik leaving the Guggenheim Museum through an elevator while waving his friends goodbye from a wheelchair.
